Asylum--The Lunatics Are On The Loose Again

PREVIOUSLY, ON THE ASYLUM...

Back again? (Part Deux)

28 October, 2008

I think everything is fixed now; apparently, at some point, I changed all of the navigation images for The Adventures of The Insane Space Hunter to PNG files instead of GIF files. Then, at some point, I re-downloaded old copies of the HTML files. Or something.

Anyway, it was all broken, but now it's all better. I also changed the black-blade.net links that used to appear at the bottom of each page with the text "Hosted By..." to reflect the fact that I'm not on Outerverse's server and haven't been for a while.

I also fixed the copyright date. Woo.

Have a nice day!

Back again?

27 October, 2008

Hee hee, it's sure been awhile. But I'm doing something again. So there.

Badger made me a new avatar, so that's what I'm using to adorn both my posts on the BBN Boards, as well as this newspost. He said it was about time I graduated to the sixteen-bit generation of graphics. Plus, it's animated!

BOTP8 is over, and I'm going to be doing some more with The Adventures of The Insane Space Hunter. I thought about removing some parts from canon (notably Chapter 4), but upon further reading of what I spewed, I realized that Chapter 4 was actually my third (or so) attempt at explaining everything and it kinda works, though it's far from my favorite thing I ever wrote. I'll just leave it in the Adventures and add more. Check that space as necessary, as I probably won't bother to update this one to say that I updated that one (because just now, I updated this one to say that I was going to update that one).

...it made sense to me, anyway. :P

Oh, yeah, I also took the broken counter off of the main page. Since it's been broken for, like, two years. :P

Have a nice day!

Hey, Ruth.

14 January, 2004

One of the other servers at work was lookin' to check out some of the stuff I've written, so I gave her the address here. Easier than trying to find a working printer, or saving everything to a CD and giving it to her... all I had to do was write a URL on a slip of paper. Heh.

Anyway, hey, Ruth. I figured I'd give you a couple of links to my different projects, starting with The Adventures of The Insane Space Hunter, the biggest of my stories. Then, there's The TMC Chronicles or whatever I meant to call it, and Cartoon Llama Spirit Fighter Hero, my goofy animated llama martial arts flick. Watch the movie and then the trailer for full effect--the trailer is better than the movie, because it's funnier and has music. If you watch the trailer first, you'll get your hopes built up and then have them dashed because it's a really crappy movie. :P

As for the site, I'm going to make more of a subsection for BOTP, being that I'll soon have to add my BOTP6 stats and one-page character intro in there someplace... so I'll probably make a section for stats, and leave the IFFWorld link in the navbar.

That's it. Other than the fact that I uploaded the versions of Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of The Adventures of The Insane Space Hunter that actually had the Chapter 5 links on them so that you can really get around correctly now, that is... but that's not really a biggie.

Have a nice day!

LiveJournal

26 November, 2003

Well, I gave up on trying to journal my thoughts on my updates pages here, so I got a LiveJournal. Sure, I had to garble my screenname in order to fit it into their 15-character limit (just call me "InaneSpaceHuntr"), but it works. Got an OSX client to update it, too, so I don't even have to open my browser anymore. Plus, it auto-detects what music iTunes is playing when I post, saving me the additional step of thinking. :P

Nothing else is new, other than the fact that I'm back online now. Though nobody's actually been on instant messenger lately. I need to catch up with everybody, especially SimBen.

Work on the site now includes the old Ladder of Losers site. Which shall soon be the *new* Ladder of Losers site--also, it will now be located here on the Asylum.

I've been on the new board already, and kudos to Outey for setting it all up. Woo-hoo for that voodoo that he do so well. :P

Though his avvie images in my update pages seem to be broken... I'll have to check on that.

Have a nice day!

Outerverse is in the house...

ISH is on hiatus at the moment which in this case is a good thing.

I have been aware that the Asylum Board has been very slow not just on Fuitadnet but also on One2Host.  The problem is that CGI script is inherently slow and the bigger the board got, the slower the CGI scripts ran.  So I've backed up the board, found a decent PHP alternative in phpBB, found a IkonBoard > phpBB converter, then I had a go at the ol' nutter.

We may have lost a few of the swankier features IB had, but I think that the trade off is warranted.  Some can be added back using mods as I find them, like user titles.  One new feature we get is that members get the ability to change their user names at will.

All user accounts and passwords should still work for the new board, with the exception of Paru Codex was no Nexus #591 as his screen name was too long so it's now just Paru Codex.  So everybody, let me or DamnGlitch know if you can't log-in and we'll fix you up with a temporary password.

ADMINS & MODS: The links for the AdminCP and ModCP are located at the bottom of the page in phpBB.
