The Adventures of The Insane Space Hunter ("project TAOTISH") was a project I started between the second and third Battles of the Posters when I probably should've been working on graduating from high school. It's been (slowly) added to over time, finishing with a revamped origin story for our feckless protagonist in Chapter 4. The original origin story is appended to my BOTP2 stats, mostly for posterity, as it completely throws continuity out the window if it takes place in the same space-time universe as these Adventures. I've written other stories from time to time, but this is the one I keep coming back to--I've written countless stories, but only one chapter of each. Four chapters in this one denotes that I've actually stuck with it. The lack of recent additions to it denotes a lack of time. Oh, well. The first three chapters, The Yellow Armor Blues, Perchance to Scheme, and Business as Usual introduce my wacky cast of characters--The Insane Space Hunter, DamnGlitch, Number 18, and Dark Lurking Guy (the predominate villain). Other notable characters are Princess Elsa and the literally numbered members of the SSOSS who work under Dark Lurking Guy's leadership. These three really encompass my better material to date, overshadowing Chapter 4 (All's Well That Ends Unexpectedly), as it was kind of a slap-dash operation to figure out where ISH came from in time for BOTP4. I don't care for it as much as I wish I did, but it's serviceable, so I'm leaving it as-is. Chapter 4 is also brought to you in ISH-O-Vision, a system of color-coding text to denote the speaker I developed during BOTP1 that was featured in BOTP2 and 3 before becoming law in BOTP4. :) It's an HTML geek's method of denoting voice and character in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Or something like that. Future chapters shall also feature it, because I like it. I've also gone back and "ISH-itized" Chapter 1 and will do the same for Chapters 2 and 3 when I get around to it. They say that Rome wasn't built in a day. Well, Chapter 5, Two-for-One Cyborg Tuesdays was. ISH was brought back to life (again...) since they chopped off the top of his head in BOTP5. Blasted two-dimensional participants. Anyhoo, I also worked his brother Kane into the story and threw a few lines the way of those endless waves of stormtroopers in docking bays and the random deep chasms in said docking bays that they stand around all day. |
